Beberapa waktu yang lalu saya menyaksikan House of Sand and Fog di sebuah stasiun TV swasta.
Genre-nya sungguh menggoda: teater improvisasi. Namun apa daya hingga petang saya masih di kampus, berurai air mata. Lagi-lagi karena sebuah sinema. Film Iran berjudul The Stoning of Soraya M. ternyata mampu membuat saya (jauh) lebih histeris dari sebelumnya (dan ternyata aktris Iran, Shohreh Aghdashloo, berakting di kedua film tersebut).
Film yang kedua ini sungguh menampar. Saya sungguh bersyukur.
Alasannya sederhana, begitulah definisi cantik menurut budaya mereka.
Melahirkan anak laki-laki menjadi tugas baru mereka.

Move as swift as a wind.
Stay as silent as forest.
Attack as fierce as fire.
Undefeatable defense like a mountain.

my guy bestfriend

Jadi, saya baru saja (masih) pinjam novelnya Raditya Dika yg judulnya Marmut Merah Jambu dari teman saya, Andin. Ada satu chapter di buku itu yang bikin saya bilang "oh my god it's so true!", yaitu chapter Pertemuan Terakhir dengan Ina Mangunkusumo.
Ceritanya si Radit ini suka sama Ina, tapi ga berani ngungkapin. Meskipun begitu mereka sering jalan bareng kesana-kemari. Nah, tapi persamaannya bukan di situ. Coba baca cuplikan ini:
Tiba-tiba Ina berkata, 'By the way, makasih banget lo udah mau jadi temen gue selama ini. Lo tau gak, kalo kita jalan, gue ngerasa nyambung banget sama elo.
'Kenapa gitu?'
'Ya, soalnya, yah kalo lo sama gue keliatannya kayak seorang cewek dengan satu temen gay-nya.'
'Hah? Gue kan gak homo!'
'Iya, tapi lo bisa jadi a girl's bestfriend,' dia mengambil napas sebentar. 'Seperti selama ini gue menganggap lo.'
Dia menepuk pundak gue, seolah sebuah tanda untuk menyatakan 'terima kasih. udah mau nemenin gue selama ini, my gay bestfriend'...
I have a friend. And he is a boy. Sebut saja namanya Dito. Kita satu SMP tapi beda kelas, dan waktu smp kita gak saling kenal. Pas kelas satu SMA, we were classmates, dan memang kami semua sekelas lumayan deket satu sama lain.

Dito ngasih saya lagu-lagunya Endah n Rhesa, saya kasih dia lagunya Brown Eyed Girls (girl band Korea). Dito share lagunya Frau, saya gantian share lagu barunya Girl's Generation (sumpah yg ini dapet dari temen, saya ga donlot).
Sebagai cowok, dia jujur banget ngaku suka musik gituan. Soalnya temen-temen cowok saya yg lain sok nggak suka, tapi mau --_____--"

Oh iya! Dari dialah saya dapet film yg sekarang jadi favorit saya (kami), 500 Days of Summer.
Dia pengen bikin kaos " I ♥ Zooey Deschanel". Saya nonton film barunya Joseph Gordon-Levitt DUA kali.
My bf also knows about me and Dito, and he's fine with it ♥.

Sampe-sampe obat cewek saya yg namanya Cisya bilang gini, "Kok kamu bisa deket sama Dito e, An?"
Yah memang kami berdua beda banget. Saya tipe rajin nyatet, dia tipe fotokopi catetan. Saya rajin kuliah, dia sering titip absen. Ya pokoknya beda lah. Tapi yg pasti, kami saling menanggapi omongan ngaco satu sama lain.

Well udah ah. Kalo banyak-banyak ntar dia ge-er.

my monday randomness

helloo. happy Monday people :)
well i began this day with a big expectation. and big duty.
what did i expect? go to theatre with my best friend, Irma.
what mas my duty? cooking. my mom had to accompany my brother at school.
let me tell you that i got up at 7 am and started cooking. what did i cook? fried onion. about 1 kilogram (i know it doesn't sound luxurious, but just FYI it's really hard).
i peeled the onion. sliced it with an union grill. fried it. finish. 11am. 4 hours!!! aah i'm so worn out.

that's why i went to the cinema with a smile. wished to change my mood.
but as soon as i got there, i really wanted to turn around. there was an amazing queue!! they lined up to watch The Last Airbender (a movie whose animation i really like. a movie which i used to anticipate). i found Irma and told her to move to the other cinema.
attention people, you'll find the same queue if you want to buy The Last Airbender's ticket.

fortunately, we moved to plaza ambarukmo and bought 2 tickets for Salt, and we didn't need to line up for a long time. the movie was good enough, though the plot was predictable.
but unfortunately, the movie stopped for 5 minutes because of technical problems. a virus attacked the computer. (a brand new info for me! today's cinema use computer to play the movie, guys!). it made me disappointed because i wished they will give us a free ticket or something for ruining our mood. aah.

after that we wandered around the mall. filled our stomach. buy some books. and i met my dorky-friend, Andin who was going out with her bf hihihihi :3
well then i went to a shop, looked for a gift for my brother. i found a mini whiteboard. he loved it :)

last thing, i found this beautiful floral site. check it out ;D

beautiful, aren't they? it made me want to scream "WELCOME SPRING!!!"

Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!"  ~Robin Williams
I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose I would always greet it in a garden.  ~Ruth Stout
No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow.  ~Proverb
May you have a wonderful week people :)

Toy Story and How to Train Your Dragon

why did i post something childish like this?
because... it's my first time watching 3D movie. the other reason was people kept telling me that this movie was very touching. off course it made me curious.
what kind of animation movie that make you couldn't hold back your tears?
even my bf was sooo into it. he thought about his old toys after watching it. and me? i said to myself "finally i've watched a 3D movie!" well i admit i ain't a sensitive girl. whatever haha.

actually i was disappointed because the effects weren't as good as i expected. yes, the movie was like floating in front of me. but that's it. i mean, i expected something more sophisticated from a 3D movie. a floating movie wasn't good enough.
anyway, we didn't buy the tickets, we used the invitations from my father (he got it from his colleague). so, nothing to lose haha.
unfortunately, i couldn't find nor remember more quotes than these. enjoy then :)

Ken: Hi, I'm Ken. | Barbie: Barbie. Have we ever met? | Ken: I would have remembered. | [she laughs] | Ken: Love your leg wamers! | Barbie: Nice ascot!
Lots-O'-Huggin' Bear: Got a lot to look forward to, folks. The little ones love new toys. | Buzz Lightyear: What a nice bear! | Rex the Green Dinosaur: And he smells like strawberries. | Woody: Ugh.
Barbie: [gasps] You have everything! | Ken: Everything... except someone to share it with... [he walks away] | Barbie: [sighs lovingly]

cute.smells like strawberries.yet evil.
personally, i prefer how to train your dragon [but both imdb and rottentomatoes gave higher points for toy story]. it has more action. however, i questioned the family genes of Hiccup. he's a son of a Viking chieftain, but how could he be so thin??!
anyway, thing that i learned from this movie was : sometimes your
imperfection makes you special. there always be a way to deal with it.

FYI, only watched it in my laptop, so i couldn't say much about the [sensation] of the effects. Still, i recommend this movie. so does my brother [we watched it together].
nah, i found more quotes from HtTYD. here they are :

Hiccup: Hm, toothless. I could have sworn you had... [Toothless bears his teeth] Hiccup: ...teeth...
Hiccup: [to Toothless] Thank you for nothing, you useless reptile.
Astrid: [punches Hiccup] That's for kidnapping me. [kisses Hiccup]. That's for everything else.
Astrid: [Referring to Toothless] I bet he's really frightened right now... what are you gonna do about it? | Hiccup: Ehhh... probably something stupid. | Astrid: Good, but you've already done that. | Hiccup: Then something crazy...! | Astrid: That's more like it! Stoick: [presenting Hiccup with a helmet] Your mother would have wanted you to have it. It's half her breastplate. [points to his own] Part of a set. Keeps her close. | Hiccup: Thank you for the breast-hat.
Astrid: NO! YOU SON OF A HALF-TROLL, RAT-EATING, SLUDGE-BUCKET! [throws her shield and axe down]
Ruffnut: [to Hiccup] You're crazy! [leans in, flirtatiously] I like that.
Fishlegs: I'm okay! [the Gronkle he's riding flips over and lands on top of him] Less okay!

oh well, there is a rumor that How to Train Your Dragon 2 will be released in 2013. woo hoo!
we're never too old to watch animation movies! farewell guys :smooch:

INCEPTION [and joseph gordon-levitt]

I really love this movie, so I watched it twice. There are 3 reasons. Complicated story. Dramatic music. Joseph Gordon-Levitt [Arthur]. Hehe.

So, here are my favorite quotes from this movie :

What's the most resilient parasite? An Idea. A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules. Which is why I have to steal it. [Cobb]
You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling. [Eames, to Arthur]
Cobb : For this to work, we'd have to buy off the pilots... | Arthur : And we'd have to buy off the flight attendants...| Saito : I bought the airline. | [Everybody turns and stares at him. Saito just shrugs]  | Saito : It seemed neater.
Arthur : Quick, give me a kiss! [Ariadne kisses him and then looks around]               Ariadne : They're still looking at us.
Arthur : Yeah, it's worth a shot.
Paradox. [Arthur]
[after surviving a van crash] Did you see that? [Yusuf]
You're waiting for a train; a train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you, but you can't be sure. But it doesn't matter - because we'll be together. [Mal]
Dare you take a leap of faith? Or become an old man, filled with regret, waiting to die alone. [Saito]
Look at you. You're just a shade, a shade of my real wife. How could I capture all your beauty, your complexity, your perfection, your imperfection, in a dream? Yes, you're the best that I can do. But, I'm sorry, you're just not good enough. [Cobb]

FYI this movie got 9.2 from imdb and 87% from rottentomatoes. Yes i agree.
This movie is directed and written by Christopher Nolan, the famous director of The Dark Knight. That’s why people were waiting for this movie. Honestly i didn’t really enjoy The Dark Night, except Christian Bale, but Inception made me think that Nolan is one of the most promising director in the world.

I was confused and amazed at the same time. The plot was so tricky, yet elegant. The actors and actresses played their roles so damn well. I really like the relationship between Eames and Arthur. So cute (?). JGL and Ellen Page were so well-suited. Ken Watanabe was also charismatic. I really love his accent. Leonardo DiCaprio hmm didn’t look different from his previous movie, Shutter Island. Still, he’s him, always played his role well. The ending was perfect, because it made me curious haha. That's why people are still debating about it.
Anyway, i found some posters of this movie and i love them.

.

(1), (2) poster. (3) arthur, hotel scene. (4) arthur. (5) eames [tom hardy]

one more thing, i was googling to find more info about joseph gordon-levitt and i couldn't help posting things that i found. Date of birth : 17 february 1981 in LA. Some of his movies are GI Joe and 500 days of summer. I found his quotes and posted it here because this guy got an interesting personality.

The whole concept of celebrity pisses me off. While I'm not a celebrity, it's such a weird concept that society has cooked up for us. Astronauts and teachers are much more amazing than actors.

Success is not important to me, nor are power or money. If the script feels good, then I'm in. It's that simple.

I've played the smart kid, the funny one, the nice sweet one, even the angry one, but never the sexy one.

I just feel really lucky to get to do what I do and I love it. I love acting, I love making movies and that's why I do it. This is a job which I try to get involved with as much as I can.

To me, the highest compliment you can pay to an actor is, "Man, I didn't recognize you".

One of the hardest things about playing a soldier is kinda acknowledging that I've never done, and might never do anything that brave.
eye-candy, everyone :)
500 days of summer
present :)
hmm cant wait to see his next movie. that's it. i love him and hope you guys love him too.

Love,

anz*
