Last Saturday (17/9) was a blast! Totally memorable.
Sejak dulu saya jatuh cinta pada biola dan mengagumi setiap orang yang bisa memainkannya. Siapa sangka akhirnya saya bisa melihat penampilan Henri Lamiri, violis ternama, langsung di kampus tercinta :)

Acara "Pagelaran Musik Kreatif" ini digelar sebagai salah satu rangkaian acara perayaan Dies Natalis FEB UGM ke-56. Selamat ulang tahun FEB, semoga dapat mendidik lebih banyak profesional yang memikirkan kepentingan bangsa.

Acara musik gawean kampus saya biasanya jazzy & mengharuskan penonton merogoh kocek cukup dalam. Jujur saja, saya awam tentang jazz & lebih akrab dengan karya Hans Zimmer, jadi saya tak pernah menghadiri konser-konser jazz itu. Itulah mengapa saya sangat terkejut saat kampus mengundang musisi yang sama sekali berbeda dan tiket masuknya lima ribu rupiah saja. Yaaaay!!

Beberapa hari sebelum konser digelar, EQ rapat tema untuk EQnews Oktober. Tadinya saya dan Kikin ditugasi meliput konser ini. Entah apa yang merasuki pikiran saya, saya malah memilih untuk meliput topik lain yang berbeda. Padahal kalau kami meliput konser ini kan kami berkesempatan meng-interview Henri Lamiri, Tohpati, Steve Thortorn, dan Kang Ade. Dang! T_______T *nangis di bawah shower*

Anyway, they were awesome. Especially Henri. Magical.

Tohpati juga keren. Tidak heran dia dilabeli sebagai salah satu gitaris terbaik di Indonesia. Entah kenapa saat dia main solo, saya jadi ingin nonton konser The Trees And The Wild lagi. Aaaa~

I wish the concert was longer. I wish Henri and Tohpati performed more song. Please come back soon, sir :)

Yesterday was a whole-packaged-saturday. Classes from 7am till 4pm. Having fun till 10pm. Balance, eh?

Di tengah keputusasaan terhadap band Indonesia yang mendayu-dayu, akhirnya saya jatuh cinta lagi. Namanya The Trees and The Wild. Bersama Diba, kami berdua menyantroni SMA 2 Jogja. Tomo dan Adrian menyusul. Ah, coba Arsyad ikut.

Sayang, mereka ngga nyanyi sealbum. Fight The Future, lagu favorit saya, juga tidak dibawakan. Tapi saya puas melihat energi mereka di stage dan penampilan mereka yang ngga kalah tampan sama model ibu kota haha.

Intinya, last night was a huge blast! I'm still waiting for your next gigs in Jogja :)

After such a long disastrous week, finally things (almost) back to normal.

All i can say is living in Indonesia is never boring. Trust me.

Beside those Wasior, Mentawai, and Merapi, we also have Julia Perez vs Dewi Perssik cat fight, Obama's visit to Jakarta, Tifatul Sembiring's shake hands controversy, until Gayus Tambunan went outside the jail to watch a tennis tournament in Bali *sigh* *ashamed*

What is Big Bang?
they are a hip hop boy band from South Korea whom i love so much. their music is different from any boy bands in K-Pop industry (their leader created most of their songs wooow). and right now, i'm downloading their variety show (it's been a while since their last show cuz they're busy promoting in Japan) but it really takes a loooooong time (as seen below)

yogyakarta gamelan festival 2010

I LOVE this event! back in 2007, my school (including me) participated in this event and it was awesome. 

2007

This event was held for 3 days. I went there at the last day with Arsyad.

unfortunately i didnt bring my camera. i thought the committee would upload the pictures on their official blog, but they didn't. I also looked for the pictures in google, but i found no good pictures *sigh*
the show was awesome. we got there at 8 pm. the hall was already filled by thousands people. fortunately we found 2 empty seats at the back. then, the show started.


1st performer : Sumunar Gamelan & Dance Ensemble from USA. It was cool. There were four dancers who danced gracefully. All of the dancers were women. 2 foreigner. 2 indonesian. They also collaborated with choir of students from a university in surakarta (i couldnt remember), sang traditional songs from USA. I didnt really like the choir because there were only one voice. i mean, "cuma ada suara satu". hehe.


2nd performer : Rene Lysloff from USA. He collaborated with Ari Wulu, an artist from Jogja. Their music was techno-gamelan. What was that? So, they used DJ-ing machine and remixed the gamelan sound with that machine. It's like clubbing with gamelan music. Stuff like that. Honestly speaking, I didn't understand that performance. The music was too noisy and kinda boring.


3rd performer : Bronze Age feat Andy C and The Horizons from Singapore. It was totally awesoooome! Bronze age played the gamelan. Andy C cs was trio. Andy played chinese flute. One drummer. One synthesizer player. Their music was up-beat so i love it. Andy wore black cowboy hat while performing! Wew. Unfortunately i couldn't find any information about this group [even in google]. Ah, i really want to see this group again.


4th performer : Kiai Kanjeng [Emha Ainun Najib]. What could i say? Nothing. 


We went home after the 3rd performance because it was already 10 pm. I only took these pictures. I took a picture of my bf but it was blur [sorry boy, hehe]. I feel so lucky because i went there, what an experience.
